M. J. Brock was the mother of all Elige Brock's children. I found her also listed as Mary in Oklahoma Census records and in Rootsweb site online at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:3048499&id=I596022883, where she is listed as Mary J. Harris. 1880 Arkansas Census Records for Van Buren County, however, show an ELIJAH M. (age 23) and his wife, MINERVA J. BROCK (age 19), living in the same residence as JOSIAH BROCK and family. I have since discovered that her name was really Minerva J. (Maybe she preferred to be called "Mary" - or maybe the Census taker didn't get the correct name on the census form. According to family records, Elijah Brock was only married twice - once to M.J. Harris (who was the mother of all his children but died in 1895, while their children were still very young), and second, in 1896, to M.F. Hopkins (Matilda Ollar Hopkins - a widowed woman who brought her young twin boys, George W. & William J. Hopkins into the family).
