The 1910 Census for Quinton Township, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma (Series: T624 - Roll: 1270 - Page: 247) gives the following information: BROCK, JOE J - age 28 - White Male - Born in Arkansas - living in Oklahoma in PITTSBURG County, QUINTON TWP, as of May 6, 1910. His father was born in Arkansas and his mother in Missouri. Members of his family include: (1) His wife, Ida - age 21 - White Female - Born in Oklahoma - Her father was born in Tennessee and her mother in Alabama; and (2) Their son, Earnest - [age difficult to read] - Born in Oklahoma. As of 1910, the couple had been married for 6 years and had two children, with one still living in 1910. [***NOTE 1: According to records kept by Effie Brock, sister-in-law of Joe Brock, there was another child born July 19, 1904, who is not shown in the 1910 census. This may possibly be the second child who is listed as having born but no longer living at census time. The child's name is difficult to read, but appears to be either Dorothy or maybe Arthur (looks like "Dorthu" in handwritten text). ***NOTE 2: Find a Grave site says that Joe Brock is buried in an unmarked grave in the Carbon Cemetery in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. This would be consistent with information I have about him, as many family members lived in Pittsburg County communities, including the community of Carbon. This site, however, lists his name as Josiah J. "Joe" Brock. I'm not sure how they arrived at this name though (says from funeral home record), as I have never seen any family or census records that list him as anything other than Joe or Joel J. Brock. DW ]
