Joseph Thomas Palmer and Lydia Ann Brinson had 8 children; 1. & 2. Mary Irene PALMER and her twin sister (who died at birth of injuries received before birth when her mother was thrown from a wagon by a team of run-away colts, which brought on the birth prematurely). The twins were born 4 Sept. 1862 at Rock Bluffs, NE on the Missouri River, where the family lived while Joseph Thomas Palmer was freighting across the plains from Nebraska City, NE to Denver, CO, with provisions for the (then) little mining town of Denver; // ** // ** // 3. Anne Adeline PALMER, born in Rock Bluffs 1 Jan. 1867, married Alan Jerome Phillips on 15 Jan. 1882; Bertha Irene Phillips was the only child of Anne Adeline Palmer's first marriage, and was born 21 Mar. 1883. Bertha's father (Alan Jerome Phillips) died of pneumonia when she was 11 months old, and Anne Adeline (Palmer) Phillips then married (2) James Madison Fox of Brainard, NE and had 2 additional children: Walter E. Sarah Isabel(Sadie) PALMER, born 2 Dec. 1874 on a farm west of Raymond, Nebraska, married Albert CLINE, brother of Henry CLINE, 6 Oct. 1891, and had 4 children: (1)Bessie Lena CLINE (died in infancy), (2)Iliff (Mrs. Lue Laughlin, who had 3 children: Margaret, Janice and Lyle); (3)Allene (Mrs. Elton Deane, who had 2 children, Mayme & Isabel); and (4) a son Darel CLINE, who married Dorothy Jones and had 2 boys. Sadie died of cancer 2 NOV 1945. Her husband (Albert Cline) died 20 AUG 1953; // ** // ** // 8. Arthur Franklin PALMER, born 12 Mar. 1876 on a farm west of Raymond, Nebraska, known as "Artie"to the Palmer family, who died of lung cancer 19 Oct. 1951, Married Georgia Alma Gutherie 16 Oct. 1901, & had 3 children: (1)Arthur Franklin PALMER II (Frank), (2)Ethel Fern PALMER (Mrs. Jesse Wedburg), and (3)Gerald Leonard PALMER. [Gerald died of T.B. 11 APR 1929. Fern had 3 children. Frank married Abbie Housel of Raymond and has 8 children: Arthur Franklin III (Arthur), Carol (Mrs. Merlin Helsing), Mariajean (Mrs. Harvey Otto), Owen, James, Gary, Harriett, and Diane. Arthur lived on the Palmer farm northeast of Raymond after his mother Lydia died and, since his death, his son Frank lives there.]
