Retha Josephine LAMBERT married George Harvey WATKINS; b. 04 Jul 1907, El Dorado, Oklahoma; d. 05 Mar 1966, burial in Lubbock Texas. //*****//*****// Her Obituary Notice says: "Services for Retha Josephine Watkins, 93, of Lubbock will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Christian Life Assembly of God in Lubbock with the Rev. Vern Rhoads of Trinity Church officiating and the Rev. D.E. Buchanan and the Rev. John Murdock, pastor of Christian Life Assembly of God, both assisting. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home. She died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 11, 1906, in Greenwood, Arkansas. She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in Iron Chapel, Oklahoma. She married George Harvey Watkins on July 28, 1927, in Purcell, Okla. She moved to Lubbock in 1948 from Oklahoma and began farming. In 1952, she and her husband built a restaurant, Peg's Drive In, in Lubbock, which they owned and operated for 17 years. Upon her retirement she moved to Palmdale, California, then returned to Texas in 1994. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church."
