NOTE: Based on information from multiple sources, it appears that Hattie and Harriet E. TOWNSON are the same person. Harriet E. TOWNSON was born in 1865 in Edgar County, Illinois. She married Alfred W. WALLS 18 Oct.1885 in Metcalf, Young America, Edgar County, Illinois. Alfred WALLS was born in 1859 in Kentucky. He was the son of James WALLS and Sarah A. MARKWELL. According to the History of Edgar County, Illinois (c1879, p. 691), "Alfred [Walls] met with a serious accident on Aug. 12, 1872, occasioned by a runaway team with which he was hauling hay; while the team was in the act of running, he leaped from the load, breaking his left leg so badly that amputation was rendered necessary." // ***** // ***** // ***** // Children of E.
