Hayes: "LAMBERT, S.J., was born in Mississippi on January 21, 1843. His father was Hick Lambert, born in Alabama. His mother was a Susie Carpenter before marriage. She was the mother of 7 children. Mose Lambert, brother of S.J. Lambert, was a Federal soldier. John was under Price in the Civil War. Mr Lambert was left an orphan at the age of 7. He has had a hard struggle in life, but now has about 235 acres of good land, and a comfortable home. He married Josephine Gee, born in Mississippi November 3, 1858. Came to Arkansas in 1874. She was married January 21, 1874, in Texas, and settled near Barber, in 1874.
