Notes

In July 1899, Calender Moses (Cal) LAMBERT married 17-year-old Lillie Louella WISON, daughter of Samuel and Julie Ann (GREEN) WILSON, and granddaughter of Charles and Mariah (PRICE) GREEN of Arkansas. Lillie was born in June 1882. A baby girl was born in 1901, and both Lillie and the baby died in 1901 soon after the baby's birth (possibly due to pneumonia). Both are buried in Kiowa, Oklahoma. In 1902, Cal married Lillie's (14-year-old) younger sister, Dovie Lee, who was the mother for all his surviving children. Dovie died Mar. 9, 1917 (age 30 years, 5 months), and is buried near Cal, Lillie, and Lillie's infant daughter, in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Cal and Dovie Lee LAMBERT had seven children, six of whom survived to adulthood. When their first child arrived March 6, 1903, many family members suggested special names for the baby. They wrote all these names on a large dinner plate, completely covering both sides. From these names, Cal and Dovie chose the following for their newborn daughter. She became Lillie Millie Mentha Martha Mae Elizabeth Effie Fay LAMBERT. She selected and used Effie Mae throughout her adult life.
